Pyeomusa Pavilion

This temple is located to the west of Jondeokjeong Pavilion, in the Secret Garden of Changdeokgung Palace. The name “pyeomu” means “correcting the erroneous.” Its presence in the Donggwoldo (The Eastern Palaces), which was produced in the late Joseon period, indicates that it was built at least before 1827, and had existed during the reign of King Jeongjo. While the layout of the temple was described as “ㄱ” in the painting, today's Pyeomusa Temple takes the form of the “一” layout. It is a plain-looking sculpture with a gabled roof.
