Buyongjeong Pavilion

One of the foremost open spaces in Changdeokgung's Secret Garden is Buyongji Pond, which is a rectangular pond with a pavilion that takes the shape of a cross, and has two cornerstones sunk into the pond. The pavilion was originally built as Taeksujae in 1707 (33rd year of King Sukjong’s reign), and was renamed to Buyongjeong after the renovation of the pond in 1792 (16th year of King Jeongjo’s reign). It was designated as the Treasure No. 1763 of Korea on March 2, 2012.
