Injeongmun Gate

Injeongmun Gate is the main gate of Injeongjeon Hall, the site of Joseon statecraft for nearly 300 years. It was built with the palatial complex in 1405, but was lost to fire during the Japanese Invasion of Korea, before being restored during King Gwanghaegun's reign. Injeongmun Gate has witnessed a number of significant moments in Korean history, from Yeonsangun's ascension to the throne in 1494 to the crowning of Hyojong in 1649, Hyeonjong in 1659, Yeongjo in 1724, Sunjo in 1800, Cheoljong in 1849, and Gojong in 1863.
