Monuments for the Participants

These monuments were installed in 2015, the 70th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, as a symbol of the South Korean people's thanks to the participants of the United Nations forces during the Korean War. There are 21 monuments dedicated to each of the participating countries, arrayed around the UN and the South Korean flag in the order of their participation, shaped from black stone, granite, and stainless steel. The monuments themselves are inscribed with the names of each country, a laurel wreath, unit insignia, actions during the Korean War, and writings in memory of the veterans who joined the UN forces.
