Iljumun Gate

The name of the gate refers to the pillars of the gate being built in a single column, which runs contrary to the conventional format of Iljusamgan where three gates are lined next to each other. The reason why the Iljumun Gate of Jogyesa Temple was built in such a way was to symbolize the Buddhist concept of one mind: a call for the adherents to focus their mind into a single direction to enter the world of truth in the temple.
